Crossings | A Performance by Anushiya Sundaralingam

Crossings is a participatory performance by Anushiya Sundaralingam that transforms audience members into co-creators of a shared act of reflection. At once intimate and symbolic, Crossings reflects on the fragility and strength of migration, reminding us that while borders divide, our crossings connect us in the universal search for home.

Anushiya Sundaralingam’s upcoming solo exhibition Adrift wades through the quagmire of migration prompted by civil unrest in Sri Lanka with a poetic lens. Grounded in the artist’s experience of leaving behind her homeland, the exhibition seeks to alleviate the weight of estrangement through resonances shared across time, place and communities.

Anushiya Sundaralingam (b.1967, Jaffna) is a visual artist based in Northern Ireland. Her work has been exhibited at the Ulster Museum, Belfast (2024);Belfast Photo Festival, Belfast (2024) Royal Hibernian Academy, Dublin (2017); and One Church Street Gallery, Buckinghamshire (2013). Sundaralingam’s work is featured in several notable collections including Queen’s University, Belfast, Arts Council of Northern Ireland, Belfast and the National College of Art, Dublin.
